Welcome to The Auklet!

Hello and welcome to The Auklet! This is the first blog post of what I hope to be many. For those who don’t already know, I’m a young Bay Area-based bird and wildlife photographer. Most future blog posts will take the format of around 5-15 pictures followed by short blocks of text, which will describe what the photo subject (most likely a bird) was doing and what species it is, possibly along with some other info. For example:

Here we have a female Brewer’s Blackbird (Euphagus cyanocephalus). These birds are widespread across the Central and Western US, compared to their Eastern Counterpart, Rusty Blackbird (Euphagus carolinus), which is rarer. This particular blackbird was pecking for food near the boathouse on the North side of Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park
